As a teenager, every time I broke into acne, I would want to hide from the world.
That was until I discovered the power of makeup.
I started learning makeup techniques from beauty gurus online, and felt empowered and confident when I applied makeup on my face. It became my crutch.
With time, my love for makeup grew along with my love for self love. I soon realised that makeup could be used to enhance one’s features rather than mask one’s flaws. I suddenly didn’t feel the ‘need’ to wear it, but enjoyed the process of using my face as a canvas. And thus began my second love affair with makeup.
With a triple major in Economics, Psychology and Sociology, I saw myself eventually becoming a Counsellor. Wanted to make this world a beautiful place with all problems eradicated from people’s lives.
But like all good stories, mine too had a twist.
I decided to pursue a career in makeup and use its power to make this world a beautiful place! Though I must say, my love for Psychology does help me connect with my clients, and also adapt and navigate the challenging situations in our industry.
I started with a basic makeup course from Makeup Designory and went on to do an advanced makeup course from Delamar Academy, London.
I’ve worked on ads, music videos, and lookbooks for designers. I’ve worked backstage at fashion shows and for reputed magazines like Grazia, Cosmopolitan, Elle to name a few. From high fashion to skincare brands, I enjoy it all.
While my skin work almost always gets recognised, I absolutely love creating the ‘no-makeup’ makeup look; super fresh and radiant. I am also stimulated by projects where I have the freedom to think out of the box.
The most exciting part of life as a makeup artist is that no two days are alike, and no two faces are alike!
